Knowledge, attitude, and proficiency of healthcare providers in cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a public primary healthcare setting in Qatar

Introduction Early and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) increases both survival rate post–cardiac arrest quality of life. This study aims to assess the current knowledge ability physicians nurses in health centers (HCs) operated by Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) Doha, Qatar, perform CPR. Methodology consists two parts. The first part is a descriptive cross-sectional survey using an online form targeting working all HCs their CPR attitude. second direct observation drills evaluate skills competencies code blue team members convenient sample 14 HCs. A multivariate model was employed test independent effect explanatory variables on total score. Results 569 responded survey. Only one-half (48.7%) formally received training basic life support within last year. Furthermore, 62.7% have tried revive dying person with no pulse. All participants recognize importance knowing how adult or child as job. showed that being nurse most important predictor higher score components. Attending more courses (3–6 3 years) ranked importance, longer experience clinical practice (5–10 >10 third predictive power. In addition, drill performance revealed satisfactory outcome. Conclusion level among healthcare providers PHCC deemed reported having performed past. Considering step people’s staff should be certified assessed regularly ensure retention skills.
